SDL’s designation as a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) provides an opportunity to obtain sole-source contract awards for research areas of interest to our UARC sponsor and other DoD customers. Additionally, SDL has a long history of supporting NASA and the civil space community, so joint pursuits with USU principal investigators (PIs) are important and encouraged. USU faculty interested in collaborating with SDL should:
- Review SDL’s strategic thrust areas and determine the best fit for your research.
- Communicate your desire to work with SDL by contacting a known POC or filling out the following form to connect with a POC. Externally Funded Research Form
- If approved to submit a written proposal, contact your Department Business Manager and complete the necessary budget and SOW forms in Kuali as required by USU. If applicable, proposals to SDL may include all direct and indirect (overhead) costs and fees.
- Provide all necessary proposal-related information to SDL. This may include items such as a résumé/curriculum vitae, charts/graphs, schedules, technical inputs, and funding profiles.
If the customer awards the effort, SDL will issue a subcontract to USU with all the negotiated and required customer flow-down clauses. USU must submit invoices monthly to SDL for payment.
