Student Employment
SDL values education and provides hands-on experience for over 130 students from Utah State University, who make up approximately 15% of our workforce. Most students at SDL are pursuing engineering degrees, but we also hire a large percentage of students who fill business support roles. Many of our full-time employees began their careers as student employees.

Application Cycle: December 1, 2026–March 31, 2027
Student Scholarship: $1,000
Available for freshmen or sophomores who are majoring or minoring in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
Science & Engineering Scholarship: $2,000
Available for sophomores or juniors in the College of Engineering or Science seeking a career in the aerospace industry.
King Scholarship: $2,000
Available for sophomores or juniors majoring in data analytics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science and seeking a career in Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR)-relevant disciplines.
